Cheese Buns






These beauties are perfect for any occasion. WARNING….they’re very addictive!  The Best Homemade Cheese Buns, easy and perfect anytime, loaded with fresh Greek feta cheese. No more store bought.






*2/3 cup sunflower oil
*2 cups lukewarm milk
*1 tbsp dry yeast
*2 tsp baking soda
*1 tsp salt
*1 tbsp sugar
*4-6 cups all purpose flour, sifted
*feta cheese , crumbled

*2 egg yolks for brushing
*poppy seeds





In a large bowl, mix the yeast with milk and sugar, and set aside for 5 minutes.

Add in the oil, salt and sift in the the flour and baking powder.

Knead until soft and fluffy dough. Cover the bowl with a plastic wrap and let rise for 1 hour.

On a clean surface, sprinkle flour and divide the dough into balls (size of large mandarin)

Lightly press each ball and place a full spoon of crumbled feta cheese on each circle and fold the dough, creating a ball.

Place them on a baking sheet.

After filling the pan, cover it with a clean kitchen towel for 10 minutes. Brush with egg , sprinkle with poppy seeds and bake at 180 degrees until golden.
