Ekmek with Melomakarona is a light and refreshing dessert featuring three layers of goodness- a syrupy melomakarona base, a creamy custard and top off it a layer of fresh cream with walnuts.


2 packs vanilla pastry cream

* ½ cup milk

*1 tsp vanilla extract

*220 g / 7,7 oz whipping cream

*1 kg melomakarona, crumbled

*1/2 cup walnuts


In a bowl prepare pastry cream according to the box instructions and set aside. ( add in the vanilla extract).

With a hand mixer or in the bowl of a stand mixer, whip the cream and milk, until it just holds, stiff peaks.

Toss crumbled melomakarona and press using a fork in the bottom of a dish.

Spread the pudding mixture over the melomakarona. Sprinkle with some crumbled melomakarona and top with whipped cream . 

Chill for at least 4 hours before serving.  Serve with ground walnuts.
