Galaktompoureko without phyllo, easy, incredibly tasty, you don’t stop at one piece.
*1 1/2 liters of fresh whole milk
*270 gr. sugar
*150 gr. fine semolina
*5 medium eggs
*2 tsp vanilla extract
*150 gr. butter
In a bowl, put the eggs together with the semolina and mix them very well with a whisk.
Then, in a saucepan, put the milk with the sugar, the zest and the vanilla extract and heat it over high heat until it boils.
Immediately after, slowly pour half of the hot milk into the bowl with the egg mixture, stirring with a whisk.
After we have poured the milk into the bowl, return all the mixture from the bowl to the saucepan with the rest of the milk, continue stirring on medium to high heat, until thickens.
Remove from the heat and immediately add the room temperature butter, stirring until it melts.
Then, pour cream into a 9-13 baking pan, which we have previously lined with non-stick paper and bake in a preheated oven, at 180 degrees, in the air, for about half an hour.
Let cream cool before cutting it
