GREEK STYLE MEATBALLS PITA BREAD
Ingredients:
*500 g / 17.6oz ground beef
*3 to 4 slices of moist bread
*2 onions,chopped
*1 cup fresh parsley, chopped + for garnish
*1 tbsp. dried mint
*1 tsp tried oregano
*2 eggs
*1 tbsp olive oil
*1 tsp Greek Ouzo
*Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
*Flour for dusting
*Olive oil or vegetable oil for frying
*1 packet small pita breads, warmed
Directions:
In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients and mix well. Roll the mixture into balls.
Place the flour in a shallow pan, and roll the balls in the flour to coat.
Shake off any excess flour, and place the meatballs onto a plate.
In a frying pan Heat olive or vegetable oil and add the meatballs.
Fry until nicely browned on all sides. Serve pita breads topped with tomato salad and meatballs.
Garnish with fresh parsley.
