CRETAN DAKOS
Dakos , also known as koukouvagia is a Cretan meze consisting of a slice of soaked dried bread or barley rusk topped with chopped tomatoes and crumbled feta cheese, and flavored with herbs such as dried oregano.
A traditional meze on the island of Crete, dakos is often called “Greek bruschetta,” and is easy to make with few ingredients and no cooking.
Ingredients:
Tomato, cut into small pieces
Feta Cheese, crumbled
Directions:
Moisten the rusks, with water.
Spread the tomato pieces on the rusks and add the crumbled cheese.
Top with the olive oil, sprinkle with the oregano and drizzle with some extra olive oil and some vinegar.
