Greek Gavros Tiganitos – A Classic Meze

Anchovies are very tasty and healthy, and are one of the most popular fish in Greece. It’s a perfect option for those who suffer from heart problems as anchovies offer Omega 3 fatty acids and the olive oil Omega 9 fatty acids
Ingredients
1 kg / 2,2 lb. anchovies
1 cup of flour
1 tsp salt
Olive oil, for frying
Fresh lemon juice

Directions
Remove head by pulling it and the guts will also be removed as well. Wash, strain, add sprinkle with salt.
Mix the flour with more salt and coat the anchovies.
Heat the olive oil and fry until golden crispy. Place on absorbent kitchen paper to remove excess oil.
Drizzle with lemon juice and serve gavros with some Horta and Greek salad
