There’s something magical about making your own pizza dough at home.
The scent of freshly baked crust, the warmth of the oven, and the joy of creating something from scratch—it’s comforting, simple, and deeply satisfying.
Today I’m sharing my go-to homemade pizza dough recipe—a recipe that never fails and brings the whole family to the kitchen.
Whether it’s a quiet movie night or a weekend gathering, this dough is the perfect base for your favorite toppings.
What I love most about it?
It’s soft, chewy, golden on the outside, and incredibly easy to work with. Just a few basic ingredients—flour, yeast, olive oil, water—and a little time to rise. That’s it!

500g (4 cups) all-purpose or bread flour
1½ tsp salt
1 tsp sugar
1 packet (7g) dry yeast
300ml (1¼ cups) warm water
2 tbsp olive oil
Directions
Activate the yeast:
In a bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until it becomes foamy.
Make the dough:
In a large bowl, mix flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Stir until a rough dough forms.
Knead:
Transfer to a floured surface and knead for about 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic. (Or use a stand mixer with a dough hook for 6–7 minutes.)
Let it rise:
Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a clean towel or plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 to 1½ hours or until doubled in size.
Shape:
Punch down the dough. Divide if making smaller pizzas. Roll out on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
Top & Bake:
Add your favorite toppings and bake at 230°C / 450°F for 10–15 minutes or until the crust is golden and crisp.
