Spinach & Mushroom Pizza

SPINACH AND MUSHROOM PIZZA

In our home we never say no to a pizza. This spinach and mushroom pizza recipe is a hearty and delicious one to try.

 

 
Ingredients:

 

For the dough
2 cups warm water
*1 package of quick rise yeast
*1 tsp sugar
*1 tsp salt
*1 tbsp Olive Oil
*5-5½ cups all purpose flour

 
*1 cup pizza sauce
*2 cloves garlic minced
*1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
*1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
*Handful chopped fresh spinach

 

 

Directions:

 

For the dough

Add water, yeast, and sugar to a mixing bowl. Stir and then let proof for about 5 minutes.
Add salt, olive oil and about 2.5 cups of flour. Mix with your hands.
Add remaining flour, 1 cup at a time, until dough doesn’t stick to your hands.
Form until a ball and knead several times.
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap, and let rise in a warm place, for 30 minutes. The longer it rises, the better.

Preheat oven to 475 degrees. Spread the dough into a circle on a lightly oiled sheet

Top pizza dough evenly with pizza sauce, garlic, cheese, mushrooms and spinach.
Bake for 10-12 minutes until cheese is bubbly and crust is golden.

Remove from oven and top with fresh torn basil and serve.
