
This easy cheese pie with kataifi pastry and Greek cheeses is a real treat. Fluffy and crunchy with a creamy filling, it should not be missed.
Ingredients
600 ml. milk
1 packet kadaifi leaf
5 tablespoons of melted butter
4 large eggs
350 gr. feta cheese
100 gr. graviera cheese + 100gr. mizithra cheese
2 – 3 tablespoons of chopped fresh mint + pepper to taste
Directions
Heat the butter and pour over the kadaifi.
Place it on a baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes until golden brown.
Break kataifi it into small pieces with your hands and spread half the amount in a well-buttered 26cm springform pan, covering the sides as well.
In a deep bowl, beat the 2 eggs, add the cheeses and pepper, mint and mix.
Pour the filling into the center of the mold and cover with the rest of the kadaifi.
Beat the remaining eggs and add the milk. Pour over the cheese pie and leave it for half an hour to absorb the liquid.
Bake at 180 degrees Celsius for 30-40 minutes until golden.
Sprinkle with thyme (optional) and serve.
